The Beach is so fun!

Posted in pictures with tags on April 27, 2008 by ButtercupRN

We went looking for this particular park that is supposed to be a bird sanctuary but being an idiot I used Mapquest to find it which means of course that I didn’t. Instead we drove around until we came to Vero beach and we stopped just to breathe the fresh air and maybe get our feet wet. We didn’t plan to stay but Ethan began playing in the waves, running to and fro and his laughter was so easy and infectious we were soon all having a blast as I snapped away.

I love this video!

Bad Movie

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on April 11, 2008 by ButtercupRN

After I watched “The Legend” I had to restrain myself from lobbing the DVD out the back door into the lake………because it might hurt a fish. Ack! What a meaningless, dark, violent waste of celluloid……. and my money. I keep saying I’ll never buy any more DVD’s sight unseen anymore and I won’t anymore.I guess I’ll join Netflix or wait for them to hit cable. I never thought Will Smith would be in such a bad movie.

Job search continued

Well……….I’ve been looking and the only jobs posted are 12 hour shifts at the local hospital. I have a hard time doing 12 hour shifts anymore and hospitals won’t use 8 hour shifts because they are more expensive. So the hospitals are saying they can’t find nurses to work there that “the well is dry” but they will not accomodate the older nurses(by this I mean over 40 which is the median age by the way) by having shorter shifts or even reasonable work weeks. I only work 3 day weeks but at the last hospital I worked at they put nearly all my days together making me work 5 out of 6 days. I’m sorry but I just cannot work a schedule like that. I will happily show up rested and vigorous if I just work 2,occasionally 3 then off 2.They can’t be bothered and therefore can’t find enough help. Maybe the hospital administration should try to “bother” accomodating the nurses a little. Maybe the CEO,CNO etc could come down on their $250,000 yearly salary so their hospital could be staffed.   Ya think?
